:(
I'm on the Sunny Coast at the moment
and after 6 weeks in Alice and the drive up here I'm busting to get wet

Wanderer and I were at the Kings / Happy Valley area today looking at the water

beautiful view
but no waves ... at all

Wanderer had his Log and his SUP
" do you want to go for a paddle "
???
" there's no wave ?? "

" I said paddle - not catch waves "

I just couldn't bring myself to do that
so went home for lunch and watched TV

NO ONE OUT !! ?
garrrhh

the idea of paddling a SUP or Log about with NO wave to catch AT ALL ... was just too foreign for me
needed another few inches to get the wave to break and I may have had inspiration
and I would have put a disguise on and gone out
8)
but not to be
say Hi to Red and the Crippler

Kev

It's dodgy here in Spring for waves. Had a late surf today 1 ft maybe a foot and a half. Light weights did ok but i couldn't get any speed.

Water's warming up though.

catch up soon.

Should have come down our way Shelfbreak. Toddled down to the Spit late morning to finally find waves breaking after a week of mostly flatness. There was a grommet comp of some sort running bang in the middle of the beach and as the tide bottomed out it turned into rip city, a non-stop paddle fest. The forty or so crew just north of the jetty were riding three and four up most waves, as were their 30 mates just south of the jetty, so I opted for the north corner by the breakwall. Probably a good move as the Nor'easter got up to thirty knots through the afternoon. Still, caught a few actual waves, didn't see any bluebottles and didn't run anyone over, so I went home pretty stoked. Surfer's Paradise indeed.

Old Crazy would like to wish all you mothers a happy fathers day ... hope you like the socks ... as for the lunatic ... well he's still waiting for Huey to do something about the no bumps in the water fiasco ... sicks days out and three and a half ours from all good intentions going out the window ... and the drought refuses to break ... a sacrifice may be in order ... it will have to be a goat ... its impossible to find a virgin in paradise these days ... maybe a goat-boat or goat-boater would suffice ...

Got wet after breakfast at a little lumpy beach break ... caught a few ... nice to get wet ... its been a while.
For fathers day ... a CD by Farm ... the soundtrack from The innermost limits of pure fun ... pretty cool ... a copy of The Surfers Journal ... with a feature on kneeboarding ... endangered species ... a couple of George Greenough Design stickers ... the little aeroplane ones ... and a new CD by my youngest son ... a few originals and a couple of covers ... he goes good that boy.
Fatherhood ... its not all beer and skittles ... but definitely worthwhile.

Sounds good AB will have Pete Flood in tow as well and I know he'll be up for a wave as well. At the moment things are looking like I'll be up there during the day Thursday but that can shift as I'm picking the wheels up from the panelbeater hopefully tuesday (in time for a service that night), last day of work Wednesday and choof off around two or three Thursday morning. Will give you call when we arrive in Coffs.
When's Old Crazy turning up, is the Tardus operational ?

Cheers Wolruss

Hey russ, womble knows what he's doing... not sure about anyone else
He was going to give you a call, i suggested he kip in with us if there was a spare bed, or he could throw in a swag, but if you got an extra bod as in pete already it might be getting too cosy??? Last i talked to him we were heading down together. Al
