That "swell" was specific. WS was showing weak sporadic hope, nothing to prod me into gettin wet, but at the same time I heard the ES was going off overhead   . Sweeping angle with a short duration. Good to see you got some surfhorn

north

Post by frankfqr »

K-man---from the lines I've seen in town for quite some time I can only imagine the breaks north have been going off. In younger days I scored these pulses solo on a regular basis, but older wisdom dictates to have a mate to at least drag you in if the "landlord" comes calling. Any SC takers want company for northern remotes?? My schedule is always clear for surf, prefer mon-fri. just PM. Small in town today--no lines.

Am trying for mid week but it depends on my leg. I seriously crunched my left leg on a big air drop at Lil' Windansea during that South about 3 weeks ago. I've been trying to surf but still have a bit of problem going left ....or turning. lol

I'm on Team Alleve at present

Hurricane Bertha is stationary just SE of Bermuda giving Florida another day of classic surf! Offshore winds or no wind was the call today, with head high, long period groundswell lighting up most spots on the East Coast. Man-O-War made the trip up from Miami yesterday surfing Monster Hole on his spoon.
My vacation started today at 5 so this post has a Sonoma Valley slur to it!!
Dawn patrol or yawn patrol tomorrow, then it's Cabo on Wednesday "Qué onda guero"?

Fun waves yesterday in OC MD. Chest to shoulder on the sets (long wait), glassy almost all day. Thumpin hard dredgers inside. Finally met Mike F., in the water early AM, two kneelos on the job, dominating!
Mike got a few water shots before the guards kicked him out for "not having a permit".

Scored some really fun surf on friday and experienced exactly what you were talking about Frank. . . .

2' and weak at the first spot I checked out , and good 4' sets at spot # 2!
Steep angled northwest is the answer to the dilemma: Spot #2 in the swell window, spot #1, the window was blocked due to steep angle.

Conditions were glassy, surfed till I couldn't surf no more.

A great Bday present for myself as I took the day off for a bday surf!!

I'm the big 47 today!!

On another note, checked out a totally cool slalom skateboard contest today on Pacific street in downtown Morro Bay!

Memories of the Del Mar fairgrounds in the 70's with that old varnished Bahne ramp with the cones set up!!

The Zboys showed up and made a statement!!

I thank the good Lord for another day and another year!!

Shalom all
