Beeline.. I didn`t read your earlier about comming south..If you are comming south, i`ll hany out and surf Creek on monday.

Craig.. are you in ??

I don`t understand what you guys mean about saving your knees. I have dents all over my decks and one of my boards even has a tear in the glass next to the stringer because of my knee (needs repairing). But I don`t remember any time where i`ve said "OOW" that hurt my knee.

Unless yer an alien and yer knees are made of something like titantium, and you kneeboard pretty regularly, give it time .... the "OOW" will happen eventually and unfortunately ... wish it didn't for me, but then I'm just a plain ol' human ...

Hey that wasn`t nice calling me names...Just kidding..... I`m in the water 3-4 times a week and have old warn-out knees. This may sound funny, but I feel I stick to the board to much with a pad. There have been times that I have slid on my board and put me in the right postion. I know its all about personal prefernce. So, i`ll keep supporting the wax industry. A bar a day is all they ask....

Luckily, I have knees of steel. I can put them through a door if I have too.
But, after KBing for almost 40 years I may have to gve pads a try. But I mainly surf here in Santa Cruz County so I wear a wetsuit year round and don't kneed a pad around here!

I did KB without a wetsuit yesterday in warm-warm warm SoCal water in grinding barrels and my knees didn't hurt a bit. Now, my old, worn out ankles are another story.........
kbing since plywood days

pads

Mornin,

Noticed a funny little west blip,270-85.One of the local reefs sucks in those small ones, and combined with a minnie NW,managed to spend the whole day in the water.
Anyways,I surfed with only a short sleeve rashie, and earplugs of course.Strange feeling without the rubber. And if it weren't for the pads, don't think I'd of lasted for that long.

That;s pretty warm, sounds nice.60-62 is tops up here and trunkin it is a matter of 1-1/2 hrs before the joints start to creak.Of course there are those compensations, such as surfing with a small group,And plenty of times with just 1 or two buds.
And besides I ''love'' my suits,I"ve a closet full.Yes I suppose I am a wetsuit junky, spend more money on equipment than on my vehicles. :lol:Hmmmmm, this thread was about pads-got sidetracked as usual :!:
