Talented U.S. Team Headed to Jeffreys Bay, South Africa for Cine FX Kneeboard Suring World Titles August 17-25

San Diego, CA (July 21, 2024) – Current U.S. Kneeboard Titles open men’s champion Kevin Skvarna leads a super-talented team of 17 U.S. kneeriders who will be competing at the Cine FX Kneeboard Surfing World Titles being held at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa August 17-25.

Skvarna and the U.S. team will go up against a stacked field of that includes 120 men and women from 11 countries, including current world kneeboard champion Tom Gray and multiple former world champions. It is expected to be one of the biggest gatherings for a sport that continues to thrive and attract surfers of all ages.

For U.S. kneeriders, the chance to surf and compete at a legendary break like J-Bay is a can’t-miss opportunity.

“Traveling to South Africa is a ‘bucket list’ trip for many of us and J-Bay is one of those waves we doodled on our textbook covers as kids,” said Jack Beresford, Kneeboard Surfing USA President. “We were all holding our breath that the South Africans would be able to make this happen and guess what, it’s happening!”

In addition to Skvarna, who placed third at the 2022 kneeboard surfing world titles held in Portugal, Team USA includes former U.S. champ Patricia Hook and Sam Coyne, who placed second in the last two world titles. Six of the top seven kneeboarders from the 2024 U.S. Kneeboard Titles will be competing with competitors in the Open, Women’s division and six of the nine age divisions.

Established in 2003, Kneeboard Surfing USA is dedicated to promoting camaraderie in the sport of Kneeboard Surfing through competitions, kneelo gatherings and other activities. The next KSUSA titles will be held February 14, 2025 at Huntington Beach Pier.
