Mark Robertson says his is INSANE. Look for all of Mark's boards to be in the For Sale section soon.
Bud just wrote to tell me that mine is finished. It is about 6'2" (Big Wave rocket) so I don't know if I will get a chance to really test drive it before G-Land next month. If I do, I will let you know.

I absolutely love Bud's pads. On one board the pad was too narrow, so I pulled it off and put some of Parke's. They work great as well, THEY ARE GREAT PADS, but I perfer the softness of Bud's when I am trunking it. With a little wax, the pad feels like it it stuck to your knees, which is nice if you are about backdoor a big Indo barrel and you want to be sure the board comes along for the ride. I also find it less hard on my back and knees when I am doing big floaters.

hey John,
Don't you forget to give us a feedback. After see the outline in the picture , I am thinking in get a new board like that.
I had a similar board in the beginning of my kneeriding (+ than 20 years).
It was 5'6 fish twin fin shaped by HF Hawaii (Heitor Fernandes), and was very fast and loose ideal for brazilian's beach breaks........
Cheers

Boys,

All my boards are built to the riders height, weight and waves intended to ride. The F2K can be tuned for any type surf. But it's better for good waves, small or big.
Just ask Mark Robertson. I tuned his for solid waves in SoCal. He's been having a gas on it in small surf as well.

Luizo,
Greg Holzman's F2K is 22 1/4" wide. He's 5'6" X 145 lbs. It was tuned for North Shore power.
My friend and glasser (Horacio DeSeixas) is sending his son to Rio in July.
Want a real one? he can bring it with him.

John S.,
Better order today! I'm heading to Indo SOON!
Thanks,
Bud

A great board will inspire tremendous confidence and raise your surfing ability. This is what I strive to achieve with my designs. The F2K is a very new design. I can't ride mine enough. It's getting rave reviews from my customers.

I just got a message from Pat Holzman.
He's in Bali on his honeymoon.
He was able to get a surf in the afternoon of June 27th, 2003.
His lovely wife Mahea endured the blinding sun and heat long enough to get a couple of shots of Pat riding one of his new Fish Hybrid 2K boards.
I've posted them in the photo gallery of this website. Check it out..4 shots in all.
For reference, Pat is 5'8" X 170 lbs. He's riding his mid range board built for general purpose everyday surfing 4-8'.

Here's Pat's message to me...................

Bali Report 6/27/03

Buddy,
6/27/03 Sanur 4-6ft excellent morning till noon. No one out, and I couldn't
go out because I'm on my honeymoon..................
Afternoon, Mahea could see I was frothing at the mouth, jonesing to surf,
and so we went to Ulu's at 4-8 ft. with 10ft.+ sets. in the afternoon(see pics).
Bali is EMPTY!!, no crowds anywhere (Kuta looked like a ghost town on Thursday), but Ulu's had a crew 30-45 guys out. I got lucky and a lot of really good waves.

My new green board (5'8") is working I-N-S-A-N-E! Didn't think ULU"s would be THAT big when I got there, and unfortunately I only brought my green fish. But it handled!!

Mahea took a few pic's of me (including this scratcher set takeoff
earlier on in my session, and a few other of my early waves). But she said she couldn't handle for too long with the sun shining in her eyes (she had a girl telling her when I was taking off). I was stoked at least she got a couple
of me, but bummed she only took one pic of each wave.....

My 2 best waves were really late and after sunset. I pulled into two of the
meatiest fattest barrels I've ever gotton. One, on my last wave, I came out so far away, I didn't know where I was, and thought I might have to paddle down to Padang to get in at dark. Current was HEAVY!!!

Yesterdays rides were some of the nicest of my life, thanks to my killer board.
Buddy, my boards may be the best two you've ever made me. Anyways, just wanted to share my excitement, and tell you how stoked I am on my board. Haven't tried
my third one, the purple gun, yet, but it looks like an even better board (wish I had it for those sets)! I'm going to Gland, July 2-9, and I am just feeling really confident with new boards you made. If G-land gets good, I'll be in heaven riding these.
Thanks again!!
Hope alls well, wish you were going to be there, and wish I had a video camera
for someone to shoot us.
I'll try to send more pics if I can get Mahea to take more.
Pat

Hybrid 2K vs. Round pin Quad.

Post by fooj »

Bud made me the fastest board I've ever owned, a 6' round pin quad. Thank you. It is hard to imagine an even faster board, the idea intrigues me. I am wondering, Bud, what are the differences between your Hybrid fish 2K and your round pin models, beside the way they look? I've never owned a fish.
