Scored north baja shoulder high offshore left point peelers this morning - 100 yard rides were had by all!
Kudos to Gove - he made the call, I was highly skeptical but tagged along anyway
All that AND we made it back to Rosarito in time to catch the CHARGERS game at Rene's - huge second half comeback! LIGHTNING BOLTS ON TO INDY!
All in all, one hell of a day!

surfed der Fuhrer's reef this AM.....2XOH+....alone.....glassy two way lined up bombs.....lots of current made it a great day of fun.......
saw Joe and Rick 1/4 mile south....alone....tearin' down the Walls of Jericho....they didn't need no stinkin' trumpets either.....
only KooK's Corner had it's usual flotsam of posers out at Wailing Walls and HebbieJebbies.....typical circus.....gotta love those magnetic stairs.....keeps'em all in one place.
wind came up after noon with more rain.....surf pau for now...

plenty of managable swell here...if you go to the right places. had fun today until it was so dark I couldnt tell when I dropped into my last wave. didn't realize how cold I was until driving home and it felt like I was frozen on the insideScott wrote:I envy all you guys getting managable swell down there. Gene, it would fun to give the Todos thing a whirl. I imagine the boat ride out there will be rough on everyone's stomachs though...
Yes, get photos!

Hey, got some of my own today anyway. I couldn't bear watchin' the surf cam of perfect Steamer Lane this morning--so tubey for the Lane--so I fled work for an almost solo session at 4 Mile for almost 2 hours before total darkness. 6-8' faces, but it was best to dodge the bigger sets and instead grab the smaller ones that saved all their energy to explode on the inside reef. Some of the best 4 Mile I've ever surfed, and that's sayin' something for all the times I've been out there in the last 20 years. Just 4 guys out--so many waves went unridden...

Surf?whats that...powers been off for five days straight.Phone just came back on.Luckily we kept our old rotary job.Trees down, broken poles,no PGE to be seen.Ocean is a seething brown mass.Bars are screwed, and the smell of petroleum permeates our little bay.Thank the good lord for inventing guitars, five hrs a day.
,a sense of humor helps.Had to got to the the next town for the site fix.
Need to get a board down to jeff down the southland.Anybody up here or in the SC area going to the contest that might have room?
cheers

K-man - Too bad, eq didn't show. Jeff incognito after he called your rotary. With the wild weather, my bet is he got snowed--heard 11 feet of new white stuff.
Gods look'd kindly on the queen this weekend. Saturday PM sess at the 'Con...firing, sets 2xOH faces in the cove, 200 yards to the hiway, sick sucky barrels at the creek, light crowd--even at peak (11-12 ft at 14 seconds in the channel). Sunday late PM, smaller 2-3' OH, bit o' wind bump, more crowd, but still totally manageable, and still very good. Life is good...
