Ordered a custom bag for my waveski a few weeks ago. Got to talking with the person who makes the bags and learned that he also makes custom k-board bags The quality is fantastic, and he uses heavy duty non-metal zippers that will not corrode. Re. prices, the cost of a real nice bag for my 5'7" k-board was $60.00

What type of material are these bags made of? Canvas? Reflective Foil exterior?
Is the bag 'firm' so it can be opened up and board slid in? or does one need to inch board into a 'sock' like bag?
Hi Mike
The Airwave bags are made with heavy duct canvas. I believe the canvas is marine grade, but do not quote me on that. You definitely do not have to "inch" a board into an Airwave bag. The material is not rigid, per se, but is lightyears heavier and sturdier than a "sock"... they are not in the same league at all. The bags are lined (nice), and fins can be left on the board I live in Hawaii and have seen hundreds of board (surfboard) bags, but I have not seen any as nice as these... they are really sharp. They are not mass produced, which is most likely why they are so nice.
I have also heard that the Parkes bags (New Zealand? Australia?) are nice, but I am not sure if they are custom made for the specs of each board.
Best Regards,
K.D.

I have a Ocean & Earth double board bag that Mr. Hart had custom made for my Flashpoints journey to Oregon. The boards made it from Oz to Or. unscathed. A true testament to the bags protective powers ! The 5-10 & 6-0 fit together perfectly in the bag and the workmanship is top notch.
