If you're not too ticked at Surfline to enjoy even its free features, the photo/video montage of a recent huge swell at Teahupoo is stunning. Truly killer waves being surfed so deep and so successfully, and the wipeouts are petrifying.

Yeah I saw that.

Freakishly insane!!

When I lived in Tahiti in the 80's I remember Manoa as this itty bitty uber grom at Papara.

He was so naturally gifted.

To see him on that one monster so cool and collected!

It makes me proud even though he was a member of the rival surf club (Papara) to mine (Ta'apu'una) :)

O ta'ata fa'ahe'e maita'i roa o Manoa!

A Ha'ere i mua Papara!!

Check Dean Cleary's website, there's a picture of one of his kneeboard riders pulling into a Chopes BOWL. The sequence on Dean's site was used in Surfer mag quite a few years back (200?) in a profile about that rider.

Super Dave M and Steve Y used to make an annual trip down there in the late 80's early 90's. If there are two guys that are prepared to charge the place they are the two guys.
