Too fast,
It's raining here today and I'm assuming it's the same down there. I'll be at the ramp for dawn patrol tomorrow (Sat). So, DP's good, but I'll otherwise be there all day tomorrow and Sunday. Jimbo's threatening to come down too (but he's fair weathered, and won't come down if the surf stinks unless there's enough beer). Just look for a gaggle of hapa haoele kids running around near the ramp; that'll be my kids and their friends.
I'll be getting my Shoelkopf off the DL today from the chunk I took out of it with my face last time I surfed S.Carlsbad!

Scott,
I will make it with Toofast if the weather backs off (it looks possible).
We are camping in the mountains Saturday night, so Sat morning only.
What is the Ramp?

Hey Curtis,
It might not be its 'secret spot' name, but it's what I've always called it. It's the cement ramp/path that comes down to the beach from the middle of the S. Carlsbad campground. It's right in front of that main reef in the middle of the campground, about a 1/2 mile north of the jetty.
Hope to see you guys. It could be victory at sea or 'duck dive fiesta' on Saturday, but Sunday's supposed to clear up a bit.
All the best,
Scott

Hey Beavis - if it looks like it may be good I might get my fat butt out of bed and drive down there.

How's the water quality after a rain down there ? I wonder how it cleaned up after that nasty mega-sewage spill they had down that way a few weeks ago ?

I camped there last weekend, site 212. Three days of almost empty overhead to four feet overhead surf. I'll try to make it. I don't know about a ramp, there is ponto, then the first reef north and then another reef in the middle of the camp that gets great and can't be seen or accessed unless you are staying at the camp. So where might you guys be?

kneelo79....everything is fine as long as you don`t drink the water....
Never heard of that either, but then again, I usually surf that part of Carlsbad. I`ll be dawn patoling it. I`ll be driving a red lifted ford ranger with kneelo on the lic. plates. Rain or shine

I'll be there in a.m.: 7-7:30. I'm parking in the campsite and walking down the ramp to that middle reef as Matt described. I'll look for you guys if you're at one of the other breaks.

I camped there last summer for four days with my buddies. Best Wave I surfed all summer, and we each had a peak to ourselves.
