Had an extremely good session this morning at a peak near El Cap. Santa Barbara is going off, the offshores are INTENSE 20+mph. Dropping in through a cloud spray.

DOH on the sets. Going back out for more.

swell has already hit the central coast. I was getting some 12'-13' waves at china rock, cayucus. super hallow. The half mile paddle out sucked, but I got some of the biggest waves i've ever surfed, along with some of the biggest poundings.

Harvest Buoy is 19.5 @ 20. It's jumped 4 ft in 3 hours.

Ok.... the swells here now...I want some KB on film...going to check Seal (depends on the tide) then HB pier then NP....then points south... any suggs? looks like swell will overwhelm beach breaks. Really tryin to get KB riding on film on this swell and put it out there. Any ideas past NP that can handle this swell? with KB?

head south and hit up the various points, La Jolla reefs, blacks, etc.
I have to work all morning but will be lucky enough to finish at 2 pm and then go out at churches , should be in the water by 3pm, (it was fun tonight)

Badknees - there's always a gaggle of kneelos at Blacks, and it can handle any size swell.

It wasn't great today - hopefully the morning will have something for us! :D :D

The Santa Cruz area was pretty slopped out with large waves and semi-stormy conditions.

Very sad about the death of the surfer at Ghost Trees.

South of Point Conception indeed is the call. I'll see what I can find in Santa Cruz tomorrow...

I'm with Bee on the idea of staying at mellower breaks on Wed. Hit Jimbo's favorite in town break at lunch, 3+ overhead with occasional DOH bombs. The Goleta buoy was report 2.5m then, and 4+ now! Sloppy on the low tide, but today was catch as catch can with work and family.

Of course MasonS was txt'ing me pictures of where he went outside of town while I was in meetings. Go figure!

I'll try an in town point break tomorrow morning. The inside is suuuuper smooooth and long when it is big like this.

Blacks yesterday mid-day was real fun, consistant 2oh with good form and power. Today alot bigger but real crowded. I saw Chris B get a smoker which may show up on the net as I heard a dozen or so cameras click away during his ride. First time in a long time I wished my board had a little more foam as it was thick and hard to catch. Saw Walt coming down the hill on my way out, he looked stoked. He got a nice tube yesterday so he should be stoked.

What will south OC be like tomorrow? I have to go to LA in the morning and want to surf on my way home. Barry mentioned Church, I know that it is near Trestles but where? Other options would be welcome.

Thanks,
Wino.

Monterey Bay good today, but not great. Too big, so it was walled up and mushy.
