...or even better still, why not have the contest at lower trestles, or blacks or even the freakin MOON  !!!!

I cant tell you how many times this conversation has happened on this discussion board. Instead of asking what you could have, why not be greatful for what you have?

I think the fact that;
1. They got the permit to even run an event, much less one in Oceanside
2. They are not only working hard to make sure the event goes off by providing the best feasible location, but they are also making sure anyone and everyone knows about it, and
3. That they are doing all of this legwork for absolutely no monetary reward whatsoever, all this work is an expression of how much they love the sport!
Deserves only praise for their efforts, their passion and their drive to willingly run these events year after year!

Quibbling over whether the contest is going to be held in one location or another is pointless (especially at this stage). If anyone shows up to the event and thinks the surf is crap; they always have the option to turn around and go home :!:

p.s. sorry for the rant! bit stressed out at work at the moment.

Having contacted Oceanside city to get a contest going over a year ago. I understand and am greatfull for the effort put in to put on this contest. Most of the citys do not want us there. I have talked to a few other riders and as I feel. They want to see the best riders in the best waves. Everyone will be judged in the same waves. The playing feild will be level. For the most part I just want to have fun and meet other Knee boarders. If I do not ask questions I will not get answers. Maby we should just book a boat trip then I will get my wish.... When does Barry surf?

Albert I have that button but will not use it

Nothing personal Gumby,

I am just a little peeved that people have constantly done the same thing over and over again, I was not necessarily pointing the finger solely at you.

Ask RW where the button is, he is the one that told me it existed!

Graphic of the Contest

Post by Doc Turbo »

There is a typo on the graphic of the contest on the home page of ksusa, DIVISIOINS instead of DIVISIONS

Since it is on the Home page, I only thought it proper to point it out

Albert, I am not stressed at the moment, and agree with what you are saying bro  I just wish I could be there to surf the crap or whatever.

Pray/Meditate/Hope/Wish/Cross Your Fingers for surf on the 30th and 1st.
If I say its safe to surf this beach Captain, then its safe to surf this beach. I mean I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'll surf this whole f@cking place!

For clarification:

THERE IS NO SURF ON THE MOON.

That is all. Carry on.

I'm confused about contests now that I've finally watched 'Surf's Up' with the kids...

The only real conclusion I've drawn is to drink plenty of beer in case anyone steps on a fire urchin!

Reminder: For those like me that registered late, your name may not appear on the Registrants list. Joe has to manually update the Registrants webpage from the online Registration. There will be some lag.
