All,
I have a large 3BR house reserved in Buxton NC for Sept. 8-15 and invite all local kneelos to join us for some surf and relaxation. My kneelo brother in law and two standup nephews are joining me, still plenty of room to crash if you need to (but let me know in advance).

House is just down from the lighthouse park entrance, but we can hit the south side or travel north depending on the swell. Tourists should be gone, kids are in school.

JimtheSaint, we could hook up again at your favorite ramp if you're free.

Mike, this is a much better window for swell than last years August dodldrums!

Gogglefog, missed you last year, let me know if you want to meet and surf somewhere.

Capeswell, I'd like to check out the board you had Scott Busby make for you.

PS I'll be fishing that week too- bring a rod...........puppy drum should be thick by then.

Cheers,
Doug

Doug -

I definately will come down , might just be a for a day or 2 depending on work and family commitments.

Unfortunately, they have closed many of the ramps (including my favorite) to all vehicle AND pedestrian traffic to "protect" bird nests...they may be opening them soon don't know

Capesurf should drop in - he is in the neighborhood- plus he is a recent kneelo convert.
Great time frame, swell is almost a given

This should be fun. I've yet to see any kneeboards in the water this year. BTW, just to get you enthused, it was every bit of head high and blowing offshore today with the water about 80.

KneeBumps,
Also, if you want to keep track of the waves here, Scott goes down to the groin every morning and takes a few photos, gives a wave report, and posts it here http://www.swellinfo.com/surfreport/cap ... olina.html

Glad to hear all interested. PM me when you know your dates. No need to lock in BTW- in fact, if anyone wants to wait until that week and see what the reports look like, no problem on my side. Hope we get some waves (and don't get evacuated for a storm- this has happened a few times!)

One thought- we could all take our boards over to Natural Art and have Scott look them over for ideas- I'm thinking of ordering a tri.

Capesurf- Thanks for the tip -I check Scott's report daily - brings me inner peace to see the jetties 8)

Stephen, Dean, sent you PMs.

All,
Tried something new, not sure if it will work. Once you settle on when you can come, please go to the KSUSA Calendar, and insert your name (as an "event") into the days you plan to stay in the house. House sleeps eight- (meaning- after 8 you get the couch or floor!) That way we can see how many are coming and when.

No one else seems to use the calendar so I thought I'd take it over for a bit as my personal scheduling book

Dean,
Yes, Norfolk is the closest commercial airport to the Outer Banks and that's still a good 2- 2 1/2 hour drive. We're at the end of the line down here, a half step from nowhere (and that's a good thing).

Doing great!! getting some waves here and there. Summer on the East Coast is not exactly a wavefest but we've had a couple good swells. Trying to put all that KB knowledge I picked up to use here

5 days ?? Hell all I've been seeing is pictures of Socal just bombing ? You working too much ?

Saw the pic's of the new Parkes you and Putz picked up....REALLY SHARP!!
If you guys need to get rid of those old Parkes Quads, drop me a PM

Take care and get that new board in the water LOL
