Excellent read, and the medical info from the other post was very good. I'll have to remember the jaw pull.
I know exactly what Ken is talking about.
I have learned over here on the east side it's better to let go of the board when those type of waves come your way, which is most of the time in OC,MD. It's better to let go and dive over here in the winter. I have pulled several arm muscles while trying to duck dive in the cold of the winter. I also experience a whip like snapping of my back going under waves described in the story. Now when I let go and dive, I also curl up into a semi-ball. Protect your back.
Things still happen, especially when your a charger like Ken.
