intent
this is such a compliment because it is so intended.Beeline wrote:
Additionally I find its an excellent board for
vertical surfing where your high up on the face but your bottom
is flat to the wall( like a fly on the wall).
by (re)engaging your bottom in the top third of a wave you are generating the first step of entering your outside rail...under the lip
this way, you can accellerate and flow off the top, which helps you (potentially) outrun a shutting down section in front of you.
the surfer being at all times the one in control.
thx Rob..and mate, it will get faster
just wait for some lefts

more learning
wait ... didn't this just happen to me today?this way, you can accellerate and flow off the top, which helps you (potentially) outrun a shutting down section in front of you.

By golly yep, and wasn't it a Flashpoint I was riding?

Yep again. Twice in fact. First time, down the line on a nice fast wall, came off the top and damn if there wasn't a newbie (girl, sheesh) on a longboard freaking out and turning turtle (sheet sheesh) just ahead of me and pretty much in the middle of my line.

Dagnabbit sometimes I surf better not just in spite of but because of the crowds.
Second time, more mundane, thought it was a close out so I hit it for the re-entry, yet when I landed plenty of speed to bank it around that section too and out onto the flats. Just like I'd planned it.

And both times on rights, which I am getting better at. too.
Still learning what this board can do. It can do much more than I can, I'm just trying to keep up.
thanks again, Brucie ...

..and thx for the positive comments.
This site and the people who particpate within it have given me an incredible 12 months of kneeboarding buzz..it has been such a trip to speak, read and interact with other surfers that surf and think the way I do (well, generally

Surfing and Shaping is a two-way street and I'm glad my gas tank is full.
Thankyou to everyone that has interacted here on this site..and especially to all that have viewed and posted on this thread.

I've had a second session on my new Flashpoint.
Others have said,
that a Flashpoint board will make you better
or cant' keep up with what the board can do
I have to say I agree with all of the above with my little
bit of limited exp on it.
My Flashpoint board is substantially better than just
a good or excellent board.
I dont understand it just yet, but yeah the board
has more capabilities than I have and is opening
up new thoughts towards what were once too walled
up or stagnant or staid board riding situations for me.
Just the other day I was going vertical down the line and pumping the board vertically on what would have been a wave I could barely expect to make and the compliments are flowing!

the learning curve

Quite right!and thats what makes the process really fun.Figured the new one[flashpoint-5'10-t18-1/4-23-1/8-16-1/4 nose]would cover the med. size winter waves. It turns out that it will ride right down to waist high,as long as there's any kind of push.So.... med waves the surfing is more vertical, meaning up and down-small waves the sutfing is more parallel-sweet-must be the concave straightening out the rocker at the stringer that allows the small wave thing?
cheers

go vert
don't be shy, K-man, go vert on the small waves too, it works unreal. I think it likes the smaller waves even better for up and down surfing if they're breaking quickly with a little punch.So.... med waves the surfing is more vertical, meaning up and down-small waves the sutfing is more parallel-sweet-must be the concave straightening out the rocker at the stringer that allows the small wave thing?
the only limitations are in your mind ...

The other day I did what was probably the best move I have ever pulled and the wave was smaller than waist high...

Hows it Eric?Eric Carson wrote:
Gonna show him Then And Now later today.
What did Bill think of the vid?
It has been a pleasure to do business with him..I am stoked that someone like Bill Cobb is keen to put kneeboarders (and their equipment) out there.
Please let him know that if there is anything more I can do, all he needs to do is ask.
And I gotta thank you (once more) for the introduction..
Good on you mate..hope all has arrived safely

If any of the US market is interested in Bill's boards..I am happy to field any questions you may have through this thread..as long as the business stays with him.
