beautiful mate.

I'll be very interested to hear how this works out. I've an interest in getting a wood board but the weight's always put me off a bit although people swear it ceases to be an issue once you're in the water.

Very much looking to the kneelo version!

Well the board goes pretty darn well!!!!
Only surfed it once so far... and i'm a quite a stand-up kook.... so....... bad note.... pushes a bit of water when I'm paddling, so not as easy as i'd hoped catching waves..... once up though, planes excellently and generates a lot of speed... super easy to cut-back and takes a clean line and maintains its speed through turns (all 3 of them that I've done on it so far!!! )
as for the weight issue.... not an issue at all. Think the dry weight is easily compensated for by the fact that it is full of air in the water, so sits pretty high in the water. Feels lighted than my 5"11, 2 3/4 kneeboard when its floating.

Mike.... might embarass myself with picks of me riding it if i can get the missus down to the beach to push the trigger!!!

Hey Deacon,

Have a shave, get a job and get yourself to Syd-en-knee - not necessarily in that order.

30 degrees and sunny here today - offshore all day and........ 1 foot of swell :?

xmas

ps: cool board - good job :D

Board #2 is nearly completed!!!! The wooden kneeboard cometh!!!

After about 2 months, I'm 90% done with the 2nd board..... This one has rails out of cork and redwood, bottom out of 1/8 inch birch ply (looks a bit crap) and a deck out of poplar and redwood.

Just got to put a 'nose patch' on the deck to cover some cosmetic deficiencies and then glass it..... hopefully have it done by end of next week!!!!

To be know as the "Terradactyl" due to a f-up with the nose block I put in that has the result of pulling the nose down about 4 inches from the front.... hope it don't completely ruin the hydro-dynamics!!!

(Redwood nose patch still needs to be put on.... just resting there at the mo')

Sorry peter we didn't get a chance to meet the next day after the Non Contest. It is always amazing how wood can dictate your moves on a project and I can see you have had your share. Don't judge the results until you get it in the water mate. Great job and keep it up. Jon

Your patience and craftsmanship, Peter, leave me in awe. If it surfs great, so much the better, but it's simply a work of art in its own right.
